Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for all export administration duties and offering high quality customer service.
• Ensuring client orders are processed efficiently to various locations throughout the world
• Answer inquiries from staff members about tracking and shipment information.
• Sourcing the best method of shipping goods to clients, liaising with
• Freight Forwarders and agreeing costs
• Carry out booking procedures correctly ensuring customers receive high quality service.
• Carry out import and export customs entries.
• Tracking orders on computer system from instigation point through to successful delivery
• Maintaining client details on computer system and updating information held when necessary
• Prepare bills of lading.
• Create, update, print and post Bills of Lading for customer and outside service shipments.
• Create, maintain and print pick tickets for Shipping Material Handlers as defined by the shipping schedule.
• Schedule all trucking for customer shipments and expedites.Create, update and submit customs paperwork when applicable.
• Update and maintain container codes, part weights and standard packaging in computer system
• Maintain the accuracy of records regarding the receivables and shipments to the customers via ERP maintenance, as required.
• Performs daily follow-up of all materials received and the materials being shipped to verify no material is delayed in the shipping and receiving areas.
• Advises direct supervisor of impending work interruptions and recommends corrective action.
• Print customer barcode labels.
• Assist in the training of new employees.
• Maintain all aspects of current systems, processes, procedures and updates employees.
• Back up and fill in for Shipping clerks and warehouse leader when needed.
• Providing extensive support for the Shipping Manager and assisting with daily activities
• Make decisions to despatch jobs using the most cost effective, reliable & efficient methods
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Key Qualifications/Skills
• Minimum of B.Sc/HND from a relevant field
• Minimum 3 years or more of shipping, receiving and inventory control experience
• One year experience on ERP system a plus
• Forklift certification a plus
• Awareness of import and export
• Customs clearance experience
• To demonstrate commitment, enthusiasm and flexibility.To work quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Take delivery of various stock and put away in the correct places.
• Good oral and written communication skills, including the ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Great numeracy and analytical skills.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and inventory control tools.
• Flexibility to assist out of hours and weekends if required.
